Why Education Needed?
Education is crucial for the development of rural villages in India for several compelling reasons. First and foremost, education empowers individuals by equipping them with knowledge and skills that enhance their ability to secure better livelihoods and contribute meaningfully to society. In rural areas, where economic opportunities may be limited, education opens doors to new possibilities by fostering entrepreneurship, improving agricultural practices, and enabling access to diverse employment options.Furthermore, education plays a pivotal role in promoting social equality and reducing poverty. It empowers marginalized communities, including women and children, by providing them with the tools to advocate for their rights and participate actively in decision-making processes. Education also promotes health awareness, leading to improved sanitation practices, reduced infant mortality rates, and better overall well-being.
What we do
Education is the transmission of knowledge, skills, and character traits and manifests in various forms. Formal education occurs within a structured institutional framework, such as public schools, following a curriculum. Non-formal education also follows a structured approach but occurs outside the formal schooling system, while informal education entails unstructured learning through daily experiences. Formal and non-formal education are categorized into levels, including early childhood education, primary education, secondary education, and tertiary education. Other classifications focus on teaching methods, such as teacher-centered and student-centered education, and on subjects, such as science education, language education, and physical education. Additionally, the term “education” can denote the mental states and qualities of educated individuals and the academic field studying educational phenomena.

1. Gitanjali Public School
Gitanjali Public School is one of the biggest transformative initiatives for the underprivileged communities in rural Jharkhand. With a student body of over 180, we are dedicated to providing quality education to children up to class 5. The ethos of Gitanjali Public School revolves around accessibility and affordability. Recognizing the financial constraints faced by families in rural areas, the Foundation charges minimal fees, ensuring that education remains within reach for all. Despite the modest fees, the school never fails to provide essential facilities to its students, such as toilet facilities, drinking water supplies, practical computer classes, etc., with the motive of fostering a conducive learning environment.
Beyond academics, the school aims to nurture holistic development. Extracurricular activities, sports, and cultural events are integral parts of the curriculum, promoting well-rounded growth among students. By instilling values of discipline, compassion, and perseverance, Gitanjali Public School equips its students not only for academic success but also for life beyond the classroom.
2. Gram Setu Vidyalaya
In the rural landscapes of Jharkhand, where opportunities are scarce and dreams seem distant, Gram Setu Vidyalaya emerges as a ray of hope. This initiative by the Ambedkar Foundation is a testament to the transformative power of education in uplifting communities. With a focus on serving impoverished families, Gram Setu Vidyalaya has become a lifeline for over 100 students, offering them a pathway to a brighter future. Beyond imparting academic knowledge, the school fosters a culture of empowerment and self-belief, instilling in its students the confidence to pursue their aspirations.

Ambedkar Foundation’s Right Basic Approach to Development Program is a beacon of hope, illuminating the path to a brighter future through education in Chatra and Hazaribagh districts. The program lies in a deep-rooted belief in the transformative power of education. Through a multifaceted approach that combines awareness campaigns, scholarships, and community engagement, the Foundation seeks to break down barriers to education and empower the youth of rural Jharkhand.
Awareness campaigns serve as a catalyst for change, dispelling myths and misconceptions surrounding education and its importance. By engaging with local communities, the Foundation fosters a culture of support for education, garnering widespread endorsement for its initiatives.
