EMPOWERING HEALTHY LIFESTYLE

Why healthcare is needed ?

Ensuring that people have healthy and satisfying lives is largely dependent on healthcare, which is the cornerstone of human well-being. Its importance is cross-cultural, involving aspects of mental, social, and physical well-being. All communities, regardless of their socioeconomic status or location, are protected, and their vitality is fostered by the collective work that healthcare represents.

With over 1.4 billion people living in our nation, last-mile healthcare delivery is extremely difficult. The geographical diversity of the nation causes problems with healthcare accessibility and availability in difficult conditions. Uneven distribution and a lack of information also prevent people from using the healthcare services that are currently available. This is because over 67% of the population lives in rural areas, which have a lower part of the overall healthcare infrastructure, while urban slum inhabitants prioritize daily survival over access to healthcare. To achieve the objectives of having proper health facilities for each individual with the support of the Indian government’s and partner organizations, it is essential to solve these problems.

What we do

Primary healthcare services are delivered to underprivileged communities in rural and urban India through the comprehensive and community-centric healthcare initiatives of Ambedkar Foundation. With the use of two approaches, the program addresses in the gaps in healthcare availability, accessibility, and affordability by offering both curative and preventive services.

Ambedkar Foundation  play a crucial role in advancing healthcare development for rural populations by providing essential health checkups and treatments. The organizations often collaborate with local communities, healthcare professionals, and government agencies to deliver much-needed medical services to underserved areas. Through mobile health camps, community clinics, and outreach programs, Ambedkar Foundation  ensure that rural residents have access to preventive care, diagnostics, and treatment for common ailments.Ambedkar Foundation  not only address immediate healthcare needs but also focus on health education and awareness. We conduct workshops and awareness campaigns on topics such as hygiene, nutrition, and disease prevention to empower communities to make informed health decisions. Additionally, Ambedkar Foundation  often advocate for improved healthcare infrastructure and policies, advocating for better access to healthcare services and resources for rural areas.By facilitating regular health checkups, providing treatment for prevalent diseases, and promoting health education, Ambedkar Foundation  contribute significantly to enhancing the overall health and well-being of rural populations. Their efforts play a vital role in reducing healthcare disparities, improving quality of life, and fostering sustainable development in rural communities.

Some of our works

Major Healthcare Programs done by our Organisation –

1. Cleft Lip Treatment Campaign: Our Cleft Lip Treatment Campaign is a vital initiative aimed at providing comprehensive care to children living with cleft lip disability in rural Jharkhand. These children often face social stigma and challenges in their daily lives due to their condition. Through this program, we organize health camps in the local regions of Hazaribagh and Giridih Districts, where children receive not only surgical interventions to correct their cleft lip but also ongoing medical care and support. By partnering with skilled medical professionals and volunteers, we ensure that each child receives personalized attention and treatment tailored to their needs. The campaign has successfully treated over 100 children, empowering them to lead healthier and more confident lives, free from the burdens of their condition.

2. Jharkhand Maatr-Shishu Swasthya Poshan Maah: Our Jharkhand Maatr-Shishu Swasthya Poshan Maah program is dedicated to promoting maternal and child health by providing essential nutrition and healthcare services to mothers and their children in rural communities. Recognizing the critical importance of the early years of a child’s life, we partner with organizations like UNICEF to deliver a range of interventions aimed at ensuring the well-being of both mothers and infants. From prenatal care and nutritional support for expectant mothers to postnatal care and growth monitoring for newborns and young children, our program encompasses a holistic approach to maternal and child health. By empowering mothers with the knowledge and resources they need to nurture healthy pregnancies and raise thriving children, we aim to break the cycle of malnutrition and improve long-term health outcomes for families in Jharkhand.

3. Health Camps at Katkamsandhi Block, Hazaribagh: Our Health Camps at Katkamsandhi Block in Hazaribagh serve as vital hubs for delivering essential healthcare services to underserved communities in rural Jharkhand. These camps provide a wide range of medical services, including full-body check-ups, diagnostic screenings, and the provision of medications for common health issues. With a focus on preventive care and early intervention, our goal is to identify and address health concerns before they escalate into more serious conditions. Whether it’s treating malnutrition, diagnosing infectious diseases like typhoid and dengue, or providing relief for respiratory infections such as coughs and colds, our dedicated team of healthcare professionals works tirelessly to ensure that every individual receives the care they need. Through these health camps, we strive to bridge the gap in healthcare access and promote the well-being of rural communities in Hazaribagh and beyond.

4.COVID-19 Support and Relief: In response to the unprecedented challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, our COVID-19 Support and Relief efforts have been instrumental in providing essential assistance to rural communities in Jharkhand. As the pandemic swept across the nation, rural areas faced unique challenges, including a lack of access to medical supplies, essential rations, and information about the virus. In collaboration with local partners and stakeholders, we launched a multifaceted response to address these urgent needs. This included distributing essential rations to hundreds of households, conducting widespread awareness campaigns to educate communities about COVID-19 prevention and mitigation strategies, and supplying vital personal protective equipment such as masks, sanitizers, and PPE kits to frontline healthcare workers. Additionally, we equipped local doctors and dispensaries with the necessary resources to conduct COVID-19 testing and provide treatment to those affected by the virus. By mobilizing resources and leveraging community partnerships, we are committed to supporting rural communities through this challenging time and ensuring that they have access to the healthcare services and support they need to stay safe and healthy.
