Who we are
A trust rooted in dignity, built on community.
Ambedkar Foundation is a registered public charitable trust and a grassroots NGO in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand, working since 2009 with tribal and rural communities across Jharkhand. From day one, our belief has been simple: lasting change cannot be handed down to a community from the outside. It has to be built with the community, around what its own families and self-help groups say they need most. That principle shapes every education class we run, every self-help group we form, every health camp we hold, and every legal-rights session we conduct.
We are a full-spectrum development organisation. Rather than working on a single issue in isolation, we address the interlocking barriers that keep families poor, gaps in schooling, unstable income, weak health access, and low awareness of legal rights, because in real village life these problems are never separate. A child cannot learn on an empty stomach; a mother cannot save if the household has no income; a family cannot claim its forest rights if no one has explained them. By working across education, livelihoods, health, and empowerment at the same time, we help households move forward on every front together.
